Driving a hire car?
Many visitors to Altınkum drive rental cars. If yours gets a flat, this is the order that saves trouble later:
- Call the rental company first
- Your contract may restrict who is allowed to work on the car. Their roadside line will tell you how to proceed.
- Photograph the damage
- Take pictures of the tyre, sidewall and wheel. It helps if questions come up when you return the car.
- If they agree, call us
- Send your location and the car’s colour and number plate, and we’ll come to you.
- Note what was done
- Ask which tyre was repaired or changed and how, so you can answer clearly at drop-off.
Why it always seems to happen on holiday
In peak season, tight parking along Altınkum’s narrow streets and kerbs, hot tarmac and fully loaded cars all put tyres under strain. A sidewall scraped on a kerb or a knock to the rim can turn into a flat a few hours later.
Broken glass and sharp debris near the beach roads are common too. If the tyre is going down slowly rather than bursting, something has probably gone into the tread, and that can often be repaired on the spot.
